GUY-GRIP Dead-ends, installed at the top, the breaker and the anchor, provide today's most effective method for securing guy strand.
Dead end guy grips, installed at the top, the breaker and the anchor, provide today's most effective method for securing guy strand. This unique, one-piece dead-end is neat in appearance and free from bolts or high-stress holding devices. The dead end guy grips was the first to offer the cabled loop, a feature that provides more durability, easier tensioning and adaptability to multiple guying.
Dead end guy grips are made of the same material as the strand to which they are applied. They should be used on hardware that is held in a fixed position. The fitting should not be allowed to rotate or spin about the axis of the strand. They should not be used as tools; that is, come-along, pulling-in grips, etc.

The dead end guy grip is designed for use on pulling poles in power and communication line construction. Dead end guy grips are designed for use with standard pulling wires of 1" diameter or smaller. Made of similar steel wire, dead ends can be applied to galvanized steel, and the dead end of the guy grip will hold their grip whether the conductor they are attached to is relaxed or strained.
To simplify installation, dead end guy grips are designed with an offset end. This feature is important because the tip is easier to handle and wrap around the cable when installing the dead end.
After the initial installation, the dead end of the cable can be removed and reapplied twice to re-tension the cable. If a person needs to remove a dead end after three months of installation, it should be replaced with a new dead end.
For easy identification of the pull wire size, dead ends are color coded on both legs of the product.
The dead end guy grip is manufactured with cable loops for all strand sizes.
For pull wire dead ends with special requirements, such as longer lengths or non-standard twist direction, please contact us.
